Belarusian judoka Mikita Sviryd knocked out of Tokyo Olympics

TOKYO, 29 July (BelTA) – Belarusian judoka Mikita Sviryd (100kg) has completed his Olympic run at Tokyo 2020, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian lost to Germany's Karl-Richard Frey in the opener.

The bout was an equal fight. The athletes did not try to force the events and eliminate possible risks. The referees began issuing warnings to encourage the fighters.

The fight reached “Golden score” and shortly before its end Karl-Richard Frey performed an ippon to advance to the next round of the Olympic tournament. According to the press service of the NOC of Belarus, Mikita Sviryd got an injury and had to seek medical aid.
