MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) - Belarusian trampoline athletes have won gold medals in both team tournaments at the 3rd CIS Games in Azerbaijan, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian men’s team was represented by Andrei Builou, Stanislau Yaskevich, and Ivan Litvinovich. Andrei Builou, competing in the first round, scored 62.50 points to put the Belarusian team in the lead. Stanislau Yaskievich followed with 61.52 points to solidify the advantage, and Ivan Litvinovich delivered the golden performance with a score of 63.54 points, bringing the team's total to 187.56. The teams from Azerbaijan and Russia rounded out the top three. Earlier, the Belarusian women's team victory was secured by Katsiaryna Yarshova, Iana Lebedeva, and Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya.
The first boxing medalists of the 3rd CIS Games were determined on 2 October. Aryna Kmita won bronze for Belarus in the women's under-50 kg category. On Friday, Belarusian boxers Vladislav Zhardetski, Mikhail Melnichenok, Nikita Chmunevich, and Maksim Rumyantsev will compete in their semi-final bouts. After the first week of competition in Azerbaijan, the Belarusian team's medal count stands at 55: nine gold, 19 silver, and 27 bronze.
The 3rd CIS Games are underway across seven Azerbaijani cities: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The international event has brought together over 1,600 athletes under the age of 23 from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Cuba, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Oman. The Belarusian delegation includes 241 athletes competing in 21 sport disciplines.
On 3 October, medal events will be held in trampoline, boxing, fencing, wrestling, karate, and football. Competition will also continue in the archery tournament, and matches will be held in volleyball and badminton. The international sporting event in Azerbaijan will be over on 8 October.
