Belarus’ Smantser reaches final at Artistic Gymnastics World Cup stage in Egypt

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Anastasia Smantser has advanced to the final of the 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup stage in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, BelTA reports.

The Belarusian gymnast secured a spot among the top eight based on the qualification round in the balance beam event, posting the seventh-best score out of 33 gymnasts. Medals in this discipline will be contested on 6 April. At the 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup stage in Baku, Azerbaijan, Anastasia Smantser finished fifth on the floor exercise. Also competing in Cairo on the uneven bars will be Belarusian Ulyana Kuzmenkova; her final takes place on Sunday.

Belarus was represented in the men’s competition in Egypt by Yahor Sharamkou and Nikita Parfenovich, but neither managed to advance past the qualification round. Yahor Sharamkou finished 18th in the floor exercise and withdrew from the vault due to health issues. Nikita Parfenovich placed 11th on the pommel horse and horizontal bar, and 21st on the parallel bars.

At previous stages of the 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, Belarusian athletes have won one medal of each color. Yahor Sharamkou took gold in Baku and silver in Cottbus on the floor exercise, while Sofia Shtykhetskaya  earned bronze on the uneven bars in Baku.
