MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have won more medals at the Altyn Mergen international rifle shooting Grand Prix in Shymkent, BelTA has learned.
On 1 March, mixed-pair rifle shooters competed for podium positions. Yelizaveta Gavrilenko and Aleksandr Kachevsky took silver, finishing behind Kazakhstan’s Sofiya Shulzhenko and Nikita Shakhtorin. Bronze went to another Belarusian duo: Mariya Martynova and Ilya Chergeiko, who defeated Malika Lagutenko and Rinat Kazachenko of Tajikistan in the match for third place.
After three days of competition in Shymkent, the Belarusian team has six medals (one gold, three silver, two bronze). The Altyn Mergen Grand Prix in rifle shooting runs through 5 March.
