MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – A delegation of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus led by Viktor Lukashenko is taking part in the 8th Ethnosport Forum held in Antalya, Türkiye on 3-5 April, BelTA learned from the NOC.
The key theme of the forum is Ethnosport 2027: a large-scale multisport event that brings together traditional sports and games. Participants are expected to develop a roadmap for the project during the forum. The host country and venues for the future event have not yet been determined; this issue is central to the discussions in Antalya.
The forum program includes sessions, panel discussions, and strategic meetings under the overarching theme Reviving Traditional Sports. The business program opened with a Ministers’ Panel.
The working agenda of the head of the Belarusian NOC includes talks with the President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Türkiye’s Minister of Youth and Sports Bilal Erdoğan, participation in a plenary session, as well as meetings with heads of several foreign delegations and leaders of sports sectors.
The forum brings together around 50 member organizations from 29 countries, along with representatives of government bodies, federations, and the academic community. Its geographic scope covers Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. CIS countries, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, are traditionally represented at the level of heads of sports authorities. The forum serves as a mechanism for shaping and consolidating the global ethnosport agenda.
