
MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Eduard Kutsko of Belarus clinched gold in the -79 Combat Sambo at the 2025 European Sambo Championships in Cyprus, BelTA has learned.
Belarus fielded 17 athletes at the sambo event in Limassol. Eduard Kutsko secured the second gold for the Belarusian team, defeating Dusan Jandric of Serbia and Artur Malkhasyan of Armenia. In the final the Belarusian beat Aleksei Ivanov of Russia 8-0.
At the 2025 European Sambo Championships Team Belarus won two gold, one silver and seven bronze medals. Maryia Kandratsyeva secured a champion in the +80kg event. Yauheni Rebikau collected silver in the -58kg Combat Sambo. Bronze medals were secured by Anfisa Kapayeva (-50kg), Tatsiana Matsko (-59kg), Anzhela Zhylinskaya (-72kg), Karyna Shut (-80kg), Uladzislau Burdz (-58kg), Uladzislau Mardusevich (-71kg), and Raman Damiyeu (+98kg Combat).
