
MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes Tatsiana Klimovich and Alena Furman have become medalists at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, BelTA has learned.
In the women’s double sculls final on Friday, Belarus’ Klimovich and Furman covered the two-kilometer distance in 6 minutes 53.26 seconds, clocking the third-best result. The Netherlands secured the victory in this event (6:49.34), with China taking second place.
The finalists in the men’s single sculls were also determined in Shanghai on 26 September. In his semi-final heat, Belarusian Yauheni Zalaty finished first. The medal race is set for Sunday morning, where Zalaty will face a tough field including German and Greek Olympic champions Oliver Zeidler and Stefanos Ntouskos, Dutch 2024 Olympic Games medalist Simon van Dorp, and contenders from Lithuania and Uruguay.
