Russia increases number of flights, railway services with Belarus

MOSCOW, 1 June (BelTA) - Russia is expanding air and rail communication with Belarus. The decision was taken on 31 May by the operational staff to prevent the entry and spread of the new coronavirus infection in Russia, BelTA has learned.

“It was decided to increase the number of flights with Belarus on the Moscow-Minsk route up to 10 times a week on a reciprocal basis from 10 June,” the operational headquarters said.

Railway service between Russia and Belarus on the Gomel-Moscow and Polotsk-Moscow routes will be resumed on a daily basis as from 10 June. The number of cars in Lastochka trains on the Moscow-Minsk route will be increased as well.

The operational staff decided to resume on the mutual basis from 10 June Russia's regular international flights to Austria, Hungary, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Morocco and Croatia (from one to two flights a week), and with the UK (three flights a week). The number of flights between Moscow and Greece, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Egypt, Serbia and Germany will also be increased from 10 June.
