MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Polish Minister of Internal Affairs Marcin Kierwinski has announced that the Poland-Belarus border will remain closed until further notice, TOK FM radio reported.
According to the minister, this measure is not linked to the timing of the joint Russian-Belarusian military exercise Zapad 2025 [West 2025]. “The border closure is indefinite. We will be constantly monitoring the situation,” he said.
On 10 September, Marcin Kierwinski signed a decree on the temporary closure of border crossings with Belarus. The ministry’s statement notes that “the closure of border crossings will take effect from midnight on 12 September this year until further notice.”
In addition, the Polish authorities have introduced restrictions on flights along the border with Belarus until 9 December.
