MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – The migrant crisis is another instrument to put pressure on Belarus, Russian and Ukrainian political analyst, historian, journalist Vladimir Kornilov said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
The political scientist stressed that the war launched on Belarus last year is still going on.
“How did they solve the crisis with Erdogan? They gave him money and he ordered to set up migrant centers. Britain pays more than £50 million annually to France to strengthen law enforcement deployments along the coast of France to protect Britain against all kinds of migrant flows, and so on. Why cannot Europe, Poland make the same offer to Minsk? They could allocate certain resources to Belarus to set up centers to receive and accommodate migrants. They could also address these issues in collaboration with the Poles, the EU accordingly,” Vladimir Kornilov said.
Yet, for some reason their only solution is to use sanctions against Belarus. “Why are their approaches differ?” the expert asked.
