MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in reducing tensions in its relations with Poland and does not want to go to war with its neighbors, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said in an interview with journalist of Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Pavel Zarubin, TASS reports.

“We see that the stance of the Polish military somewhat differs from the words of the political leadership. Certainly, we are interested in reducing tensions, above all military tensions. Poland is, after all, our neighbor. As our president says, you cannot choose your neighbors. We do not want to fight with them,” he said in the interview. According to the minister, all aggression is coming specifically from Poland’s political leadership.

Earlier, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported that Viktor Khrenin gave the interview during a visit to the Mulino training ground in the course of the Belarus‑Russia exercise Zapad 2025, held 12-16 September on the territory of both countries.
