Interior Ministry: Security at European Games with no inconveniences for citizens

MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Public security is ensured at all sites of the 2nd European Games. The start of the games has showed that law enforcers are working efficiently and effectively, in a convenient and kind manner, BelTA learned from the press service of the Internal Affairs Ministry.

Even before the games, all competition sites were taken under 24/7 protection. They were checked in advance with the help of combat clearance teams, sniffer dogs and special-purpose equipment. With the launch of the games and the fan zones a set of measures is implemented to maintain security. Each facility is staffed with members of the operations HQ which works 24/7 and makes sure any changes of the situation receive an immediate response.

Access to competition venues is traditionally provided through security checks which are conducted as quickly as possible. The Internal Affairs Ministry calls on spectators and fans for understanding of the need for public order protection measures, exercising reasonable vigilance, observing the rules of safe behavior at the sports facilities and the surrounding areas.
