MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – After the Middle East conflict is settled, U.S. President Donald Trump will focus all efforts on Ukraine settlement, Doctor of Political Sciences, expert on national security and the Middle East Simon Tsipis said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The expert pointed to Donald Trump’s recent speech to the Israeli parliament. Among other things, the U.S. president stated that after the settlement of the Gaza conflict, he will focus on the Ukraine conflict settlement. “He will now direct all resources to your region [meaning Eastern Europe],” Simon Tsipis believes.
He noted that the head of the White House spoke for about 15 minutes about the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “Trump declared that this war must end right after the Middle East one, calling it his next mission. We should now expect major changes and a higher dynamic [in the context of the Ukraine conflict],” he emphasized.
According to the expert, the talks about a possible deployment of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine are directly linked to Donald Trump’s desire to gain advantages in these negotiations. Thus, Simon Tsipis added, the U.S. leader is attempting to create additional leverage over Russia.
