Expert: No topic is off-limits for Belarus, China

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – In the political sphere, it is hard to imagine a closer relationship than that between the leaders of Belarus and China, Nikolai Buzin, Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
A short while ago, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. The meeting began with a working tea session, followed by a one-on-one discussion, and concluded with a friendly lunch.

“In intergovernmental dialogue and political relations, there seems to be no room for closer closeness. Our president was received not just as a political figure, but as a friend. This does not diminish the fact that he is the head of a sovereign state. Decades of building ties with China have now led to the highest level of political mutual understanding,” Nikolai Buzin emphasized.

He noted that several years ago, China introduced the concept of an all-weather partnership with Belarus, which has evolved into a close and friendly relationship at the level of heads of state. These ties have led to concrete political decisions and actions visible today.

“China is a unique country where Confucianism is not just a word, but a guiding philosophy. Things don't happen quickly in China. Friendship is built over time, and adversaries are dealt with over time,” he remarked. “The Republic of Belarus has been recognized as part of China’s strategic course. It is not simply seen as a facilitator or an assistant, but rather as a friendly country.”

According to Nikolai Buzin, no topic is off-limits for Belarus and China: an extremely rare phenomenon in international relations. “All agreements are being fulfilled on both the Chinese and Belarusian sides. This is a strategic, long-term partnership between two sovereign, friendly nations, ready to lend a helping hand to one another in difficult times,” the expert concluded.
