CIS states ready for consolidation to strengthen international security

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The CIS member states are ready to consolidate to secure solid peace and strengthen international security. The CIS Joint Consultative Commission on Disarmament held a meeting in Minsk on 1 June on the proposal of the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Taking part in the meeting were representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on security guarantees and confirmed the readiness of the CIS member states to continue to work in a joint commission to coordinate their actions and consolidate their positions.

The next meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission on Disarmament is scheduled to take place in Moscow in December.
