MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian Space Congress will be held in October 2025, Sergei Korenyako, head of joint programs in space and information technologies of the United Institute of Informatics Problems at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, executive director of the Union State program Complex-SG, told reporters, BelTA learned.
“The National Academy of Sciences will hold another very important event - the Belarusian Space Congress. It is scheduled for late October. It will be the 9th space congress that will bring together practically all space enterprises in Belarus. The best representatives of the Russian rocket and space industry will be in attendance too. We hope to see guests from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, who will share their achievements, and we will be able to discuss the promising tasks and goals that space specialists of other countries are working on,” Sergei Korenyako said.Last year Belarus witness a historic event as the first cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus, Marina Vasilevskaya, made a space flight. Earlier, natives of Belarus Pyotr Klimuk, Vladimir Kovalenok and Oleg Novitsky traveled to space. “We hope our cosmonauts will attend the congress and give a special workshop. I think it will be interesting both for the younger generation and for scientists-professionals who will be able to share their opinions,” the scientist said.
On 10 February the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus celebrates its 60th anniversary.
