LEPEL DISTRICT, 4 November (BelTA) – A seminar has been organized for senior personnel of Belarus’ Armed Forces in a military training area in Lepel District, Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.
The seminar focuses on the direction of training in Belarus’ Armed Forces, the sequence for accomplishing the tasks concerning the training of functionaries of military command bodies and the training of troops (forces) in the 2025-2026 academic year. The purpose of the seminar is to get the army officers to work out unified understanding of the sequences and methods of training functionaries of military command bodies and troops (forces) in the new academic year. Taking part in the event are heads of military command bodies, commanding officers and chiefs of staffs of army units, other functionaries.
Ten training locations have been prepared where the participants will see the organization of firefight training in a population center, in a forest, will see a building getting stormed, first aid getting provided, will see drones in action and the organization of mixed minefields. The use of drones or ways to counter drones are practiced in each training location. An exhibition of hardware and weapons has been organized as well.
“To participants of the seminar we demonstrate methods of training engineer units how to carry out engineer terrain intelligence and to set up mixed minefields using unmanned aerial and ground vehicles. We try to use as many robotized assets, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles as possible in order to give the personnel the skills that will help them stay alive,” BelTA learned from Sergei Bashkevich, deputy supervisor of one of the training sites, Deputy Chief of the Office of Army Engineers of the General Staff of Belarus’ Armed Forces.
The seminar will end with a live combat scenario, during which drones will be used to reconnoiter terrain and detect illegal armed units. Actions of designated fire units in areas of concentration of the illegal armed units will be demonstrated as well as actions of personnel at an air observation post, a firefight in trenches, and the withdrawal of troops to a reconstitution site.
