Belarus-Russia Union State PA to hold video conference on 7 July

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will convene for the 58th session as video conference on 7 July. The progress in the implementation of the plan of events of the Union State for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be one of the key items on the agenda, BelTA has learned.

As the PA press service informed, the MPs will focus on the progress in the implementation of the plan of events of the Union State for 2019-2020, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. They will also consider a number of budgetary issues, including the amendments and additions to the decree “On the Union State budget 2020” of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

The MPs are set to to recognize the powers of the representatives of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus delegated to the Parliamentary Assembly. The session will also elect the first vice speaker and vice speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly. New members will be approved and commission chairmen will be elected too.
