MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Myanmar plan to develop cooperation in the military-technical sector, BelTA learned from the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
The 17th meeting of the Belarus-Myanmar commission on military-technical cooperation took place in the Belarusian capital on 24 October. The parties discussed a set of measures for the further expansion of interaction in the modernization and production of military and special-purpose equipment.
A separate topic of the dialogue was the training of Myanmar military specialists in Belarus for the needs of the armed forces and the military-industrial complex of Myanmar.
Following the negotiations, the commission's co-chairs signed a final protocol of the meeting, formalizing the agreements reached.
“The event that was held will open up new prospects for Belarus-Myanmar relations, allowing Belarusian-Myanmar military-technical cooperation to be elevated to a qualitatively new level for the benefit of our nations,” the agency said.
