MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Head of the Electronic Commerce Department of the National Center for Electronic Services of Belarus Svetlana Karanevich revealed in BelTA’s press center how many electronic visas for entering Belarus have been granted to foreigners.
Digital Belarusian visas became available in late March. “About 1,500 digital visas have been granted since 20 March 2025, the day the service was launched. Active users are located in the United States of America, Germany, Japan, Canada, Italy, France, Australia, the UK, and Spain,” Svetlana Karanevich said.
The service does not require digital signatures because it is intended for foreign citizens, who do not have a digital signature. Nevertheless, the development of the ecosystem of services available via the universal portal of digital services is an important step that expands the geography of users and the fields where services are available. “Not many services were available in the field of citizenship and migration and this new service became a significant addition. It had been developed for a long time in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had been tested in various consular institutions abroad,” the official pointed out. “The system works smoothly now and foreign citizens actively apply for digital visas, which makes us glad. It helps attract new tourists and enhances the country’s appeal thanks to modern digital services.”
