MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Cyril Ramaphosa on the occasion of his reelection as President of South Africa, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“The wise decision to join forces of South Africa's major political parties to form a National Unity Government will contribute to the unity of the country's people in the face of modern global challenges,” the message of greetings reads. “The Republic of South Africa has a reliable friend in the Non-Aligned Movement from Eastern Europe - Belarus. We also take an active part in the process of expanding the BRICS integration association.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the complementarity of the economies of Belarus and South Africa is an important factor for the implementation of potentially successful projects in the areas of food and energy security, technology transfer and the development of new industrial production facilities in South Africa. “I believe it is important to discuss specific topics of the Belarusian-South African agenda during our meeting in Minsk,” the Belarusian leader said.
