MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko responded to a statement by Poland’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during a press conference in Minsk on 26 January, BelTA has learned.
After Aleksandr Lukashenko answered the question from a Polish journalist, the press secretary of the head of state, Natalya Eismont, read a newly issued statement by the Polish foreign minister regarding the non-recognition of the election in Belarus. The statement cited, among other things, ‘Russian aggression’ and the Russian leader.
“Why are you dragging Russia and Putin into it? Don't you have enough problems of your own? Sikorski is an experienced politician. I've met him, talked to him. Why does he care about our election? Let him think about tomorrow. Today, Polish farmers threw manure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. What will be tomorrow? Just calm down! Are we saying anything about you? No, we aren’t” the president responded.According to him, Poland will hold the presidential election in May. “We are not going to interfere in them. If you want, we can show that we can do something. With artificial intelligence, IT and other things. We do not set such a goal. We do not need that. We do not want escalation. We will not do it. We are people of faith. We are Christians. God sees everything. Let us live in friendship!” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Addressing the Polish journalist, the president added: “Will you please pass a message to Sikorski that it is none of his business.”
