Lukashenko praises China’s global governance strategy’s focus on equality

BEIJING, 2 September (BelTA) – Belarus supports China’s new initiative on global governance. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he met with President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Beijing on 2 September, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko told Vladimir Putin: “I know that you’ve backed China’s initiative on global governance.”

The Russian leader confirmed he had done it.

“It is a good one. The key thing is equality. As always justice,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The Belarus president said that the initiative had been mentioned during his meeting with Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in Beijing: “The only thing is that I remarked at the end that the key thing is that China should not abandon this initiative, that it should be done. Otherwise, you know, they will grow big and will start suffering from globalism.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Cai Qi had responded by saying: “No. This is the fourth initiative of ours. We will honor it religiously.”

BelTA reported earlier that at an SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin on 1 September China President Xi Jinping put forward an initiative on global governance. During the summit Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus supports this initiative.
