Lukashenko: Empty land plots in villages can be used by private farmers

SLAVGOROD DISTRICT, 13 July (BelTA) – Empty and abandoned land plots in villages can be used by private farmers, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a working trip to Slavgorod District, Mogilev Oblast, on 13 July, BelTA informs.

“It is essential to use local abandoned land plots, especially in unpromising villages (as well as in agro-towns, district capitals where such land plots can also be found), for private farming,” the head of state stressed.

The president remarked that the interest in such land plots and living outside big cities in general has increased significantly in the period of the worsening epidemiological situation. For example, free, unused land plots are almost non-existent in Minsk suburbs. Now it is essential to step up efforts and encourage people to buy land plots and build farmsteads in other Belarusian regions.

“This will be a big social program, and I am going to put strong pressure to promote the use of such land plots,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
