MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - The executive and technological discipline in agriculture will become stricter, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media during the national subbotnik (clean-up day) on 12 April, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko was asked whether he would change the tasks for the agricultural industry in view of the frosts that gripped Belarus in early April, and whether the president would ease his requirements for the agricultural industry. The president emphasized that the requirements for agricultural workers are not related to the weather but rather to discipline.
"One of the pressing issues is livestock mortality. As they say in the village: if your calves and piglets die, there will be no beef, no pork, and no milk. That's why I started paying special attention to executive discipline and signed a corresponding decree. And now we will put all the requirements into practice," the head of state pointed out. He noted that labor productivity per person in Belarus is two to three times lower than that of neighboring countries.
"Both technological and executive discipline must be strengthened. It is no longer possible to tolerate this petty theft at agricultural enterprises, disgraceful treatment of animals, negligence in crop farming, drinking. This is all due to the lack of discipline," the president remarked, adding that both technological and executive discipline will only be tightened.
Everyone must perform their work diligently, but this is not yet fully achieved, Aleksandr Lukashenko said. The president stressed that it is better to work responsibly, each in their place, than to engage in conflict, as is happening with our southern neighbors.
