Lukashenko: Belarus is open for cooperation with Iran

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Iran President Hassan Rouhani as the country celebrates the 42nd anniversary of Islamic Revolution, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state hailed the cooperation between Minsk and Tehran as high-level relations of trust and mutual understanding. “Belarus is open for cooperation in various sectors and is ready to continue working on the implementation of previously reached agreements,” the message of greetings reads.

“Solidarity and mutual support take on special significance in times of crisis and international transformations. We must stand together to defend our common interests and contribute to the preservation of the principles of international law,” the president stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished strong health and implementation of plans to Hassan Rouhani and peace and concord to the people of Iran.
