MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 89 “On the draft international treaty” on 16 March. The document approves the draft agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on mutual visa-free travel for ordinary passport holders as a basis for negotiations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Simplifying mutual travel for citizens is an important tool for deepening ties and stimulating the further development of bilateral relations. In this regard, a draft agreement has been developed, according to which citizens of Belarus and Thailand with ordinary passports will be able to enter, transit through, and stay on the territory of the other state without a visa for 30 days from the date of entry. The total duration of stay, however, must not exceed 90 days within a 365-day period.

Each party reserves the right to refuse entry or shorten the period of stay on its territory for any individuals in the interests of national security, public order, and public health.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been authorized to hold talks on the draft international treaty and to sign it.
