
MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Vietnam and Belarus are jointly laying a solid foundation for long-term cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung said at Minsk’s House of Friendship during an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s declaration of independence, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat stressed: “The 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s founding is a milestone of a historical journey full of hardships and great glory of the Vietnamese people, their indomitable will, patriotism, and aspiration for peace and prosperity.”
Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung expressed confidence that the relations between Vietnam and Belarus will continue to strengthen in the future, contributing to stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
The evening highlighted that Belarus and Vietnam are connected by decades of strong friendship, with special attention paid to the hard struggle of the Vietnamese people for their independence, which Belarusians also contributed to. Among the guests of the evening were veterans who fought for the country’s independence. There were also many students who listened with great interest to the history of Vietnam’s development and its friendship with Belarus.
A highlight of the evening was a Vietnamese exhibition showcasing the country’s traditions.

“On this journey, we deeply appreciate and remember the support of our international friends, including Belarus, our close partner,” the ambassador continued. “The relations between Vietnam and Belarus have been steadily developing. In 2025, our countries became strategic partners, jointly laying a solid foundation for long-term cooperation based on trust, mutual respect, and a forward-looking vision.”
Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung expressed confidence that the relations between Vietnam and Belarus will continue to strengthen in the future, contributing to stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

The event was attended by heads of the Belarus-Vietnam Society and the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the parliament of Vietnam, who noted the importance of developing Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation.

The friendly evening featured Belarusian and Vietnamese songs, poetry, and traditional Vietnamese dancing. In particular, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Belarus performed a dance with Vietnamese conical hats to the song Around Vietnam.
