Union State summit expected to be new milestone in Belarus-Russia integration

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - The upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State will be a big step towards advancing the Belarus-Russia integration, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic Sergei Rachkov said in an interview with the ONT TV channel on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

"This is a pivotal event as it will shape the future of Belarus and Russia and, of course, a very serious step in advancing the integration between our countries," Sergei Rachkov said.

The senator recalled that the last meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State took place a long time ago. The upcoming meeting on 4 November is a serious signal to those who are trying to pursue an unfriendly policy towards Belarus and Russia. He stressed that the cooperation between the two countries is "a good example exposing who peanut politicians are and who takes care of the future of the state and people."

In recent years, Belarus and Russia have been working on the Union State programs in various fields. A lot of work was done in 2021 too, Sergei Rachkov noted. "Therefore, we can say that the 4 November meeting and its outcomes are big politics," he said.
