Realization of Belarus-Russia Union State programs to require over 400 regulatory acts, agreements

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – The realization of Union State programs will require the adoption of over 400 regulatory acts and agreements. Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin made the statement at a session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 4 November, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Mishustin said: “A more serious stage awaits us: the realization of all the agreements that have been reached. A lot has to be done at the legislative level: it is necessary to adopt over 400 regulatory acts and bilateral agreements.”

In his words, essentially a new regulatory framework will be created but on a common integration foundation. “It is a massive task that the governments of our countries will have to accomplish. It is a great responsibility,” the prime minister stressed.

The governments of Belarus and Russia have already started working on it: a mechanism to coordinate actions of all the bodies has been created and interagency plans have been prepared.

BelTA reported earlier that on 4 November at a session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the council's Chairman, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the Supreme State Council ordinance on the guidelines to implement provisions of the Union State Establishment Treaty in 2021-2023. A package of 28 Union State programs has been worked out in furtherance of the ordinance. The programs will provide the practical foundation for taking Belarus-Russia integration to the next level.
