Belarus to remain UNICEF's reliable partner

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich met with Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Afshan Khan due to the completion of the former's diplomatic mission, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Yuri Ambrazevich said he was satisfied with Belarus' successful cooperation with UNICEF and thanked UNICEF for the effective support meant to bolster the national potential for ensuring and protecting children's rights.

Yuri Ambrazevich stressed that Belarus has been and remains a reliable partner of the United Nations Children's Fund and supports the fund's comprehensive efforts, which can improve the wellbeing of children all over the world even more in the context of multiple challenges, including consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In turn, Afshan Khan mentioned UNICEF's readiness to continue helping the Belarusian government realize tasks and the relevant national programs on children's rights.
