Belarus' MFA summons Polish diplomat, resolutely condemns attempts to escalate tensions on border

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - On 4 November, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Belarus Martin Wojciechowski was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs lodged a strong protest with the Polish diplomat over Poland's statement about some ‘intrusion' of unidentified ‘armed uniformed individuals' into Poland from the territory of Belarus on 2 November.

The ministry noted that the distribution of such absolutely unsubstantiated insinuations has already become the norm for Warsaw and pointed to the inadmissibility of escalating the situation on the border and resorting to the methods that contradict the principles of good-neighborliness and common sense.

Belarus has never provoked border incidents and does not intend to in the future and therefore strongly rejects such provocations.

Belarus has once again confirmed its commitment to resolve any, including sensitive, issues in the spirit of mutually respectful dialogue. Artificial cheap theatrics staged with the aim of creating a hostile image of Belarus in the international public opinion contradict not only international law, but also all imaginable norms of morality.
