Vitebsk customs house accelerates clearance of imports to EAEU

VITEBSK, 10 July (BelTA) – The Vitebsk customs house has accelerated the clearance of goods imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). More than 95% of such shipments is cleared in less than two hours, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk customs house.

“This figure was up by 14% in H1 2020 over H1 2019. The share of goods exported from the EAEU customs territory cleared in less than 5 minutes made up 94%, which was also 9% higher than in the same period a year prior. We are making an effective use of an contactless method: more than 9,000 shipments of exported goods were cleared automatically, i.e. without the involvement of a customs official,” the customs house informed.

Faster customs clearance is the result of the measures taken by the customs to reduce the time spent on goods clearance and the general efforts to ease doing business, to reduce costs of business entities and to improve business environment.
