Retail trade 3.3% up in Belarus in January 2022

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – In January 2022 retail trade totaled Br4.8 billion, 103.3% as against the same period of last year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee.

Wholesale trade amounted to Br10.5 billion, 102% as against January 2021.

One-day per capita retail sales were estimated at Br16.6, vs. Br14.4 in January 2021.

Retail trade outlets accounted for 93.1% of retail trade. In January 2022, they reported Br4.5 billion in retail trade, up 4% over the same period last year in comparable prices.

In January 2022, the turnover of the public catering industry totaled Br273.9 billion, up 8.1% over the same period last year in comparable prices.
