MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Belarusian agricultural workers have planted millet on 89.6% of the target area, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were planted on the area of 2,244,800 hectares, which is 94.9% of the plan. Buckwheat was planted on 31,300 hectares (90.1%), millet on 8,870 hectares (89.6%). Spring rapeseed was planted on the area of 49,500 hectares, which is 80.3% of the target.
Maize was planted on 1,142,800 hectares (93.3%), including maize for silage (90.4%), potatoes on 16,400 hectares (97.8%), vegetables on 4,430 hectares (88.1%). The planting of flax, sugar beet, and early crops has been completed.
Annual grasses were planted on 211,700 hectares, which is 86.7% of the plan. First grass was cut on the area of 444,600 hectares, which is 31.6% of the plan.
