Investor to build fruit warehouse in Belarus' Baranovichi

BREST, 24 June (BelTA) – A company with foreign capital will build a fruit warehouse in the city of Baranovichi, Belarus, Head of the Economy Department of the Baranovichi City Hall Ella Stashenko told BelTA.

The investment agreement was signed with the Greenfruit company. The project is being implemented in line with Ordinance No.10 “On Creating Additional Conditions for Investment Activities in the Republic of Belarus”. Plans are in place to construct a one-storey building for sorting and storing fruit. The facility will have cooling chambers with a regulated gas environment for storing fruit.

The storage capacity of the warehouse will be 20,000 tonnes. It will be located by Slonimskoye Shosse Street, where the investor obtained a land plot of 5.5 hectares. “This is an industrial area of the city. It is divided into plots where investors can set up manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and other facilities. The place boasts good logistics – the international M1/E30 motorway runs nearby,” Ella Stashenko noted. She added that the project will benefit both the parties. It will create at least 64 new jobs in Baranovichi.

The project is set to be implemented in 2020-2022. The company intends to supply products to the domestic and foreign markets.
