MOSCOW, 18 May (BelTA) – In Q1 2021, trade between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) went up by 16.7%, Aide to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told a press briefing on 18 May, BelTA has learned.
“In January-March 2021, intra-EAEU trade increased by 16.7% to total $14.9 billion,” Iya Malkina said. “All the member states reported export growth. According to the EEC, Russia's supplies to other EAEU countries soared by 20.9%, Kazakhstan's – by 16.8%, Kyrgyzstan's – by 10.2%, Belarus' – by 7.9%, and Armenia's – by 2.1%. Growth in import from the EAEU member states was posted by Belarus (up 32.7%), Kazakhstan (up 11.8%), and Russia (up 11.5%).
In January-March 2021, the EAEU foreign trade amounted to $165.5 billion, which was up by 3.9% year-on-year.
