Energy Ministry comments on tax exemption for Belarus' nuclear power plant

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Decree No. 124 “On Amendments to the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus” as of 30 March seeks to increase the operational efficiency of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) while it is honoring its loan obligations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

The document provides for the extension of BelNPP's exemption from the real estate tax and land tax until 31 December 2041, as well as its exemption from the income tax, calculation and transfer of part of the profit to the budget until 31 December 2041.

The Energy Ministry recalled that in accordance with Decree No. 583 as of 30 December 2013, the Belarusian nuclear power plant was exempted from the real estate tax and land tax until the plant was put into operation.
