Commission at CIS Economic Council reviews measures to minimize pandemic impact

MOSCOW, 17 March (BelTA) – A meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission at the CIS Economic Council was chaired by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia, Belarus' representative to the CIS Economic Council Vladimir Semashko,BelTA learned from the press service of the embassy.

“The commission reviewed the status of the plan of priority measures to implement the concept of cooperation in the energy sector, the report on the performance of the public authorities in technical regulation, standardization, metrology, compliance assessment and accreditation amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures to minimize its negative impact,” the press service noted.

The commission considered a draft resolution of the CIS Economic Council to approve a roadmap to the program on phyto-monitoring and locust control for the period up to 2026. “The commission discussed the status of the the plan of action to the guidelines on medical and social assistance and improving the quality of life of war veterans - participants of local conflicts and their families in the CIS member states for the period up to 2020,” the diplomatic mission said. The commission also approved the performance of the base organization for cooperation in the library business - Russian State Library and okayed the draft agenda of the next meeting of the CIS Economic Council."

The next meeting of the commission is scheduled for 14 April.
