MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – A delegation from Brest Oblast, led by Governor Piotr Parkhomchik, visited the Russian enterprise Emperium during their trip to Leningrad Oblast. The Brest Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA what specifically interests the region there and what agreements were reached following the visit.
The Brest Oblast delegation, headed by Piotr Parkhomchik, visited Emperium on 4 April. This company was the first in Russia to begin serial production of electric vessels. The enterprise is essentially a modern shipyard focused on building electric vessels and innovative watercraft. Brest Oblast is keen to learn from the company’s high-tech shipbuilding expertise and to explore potential cooperation with the Russian firm. “We are interested in the Emperium company as a potential partner for Pinsk Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, so that we can build pleasure boats and, in doing so, fulfill the instructions of the president and the government concerning domestic tourism promotion,” said Brest Oblast Deputy Governor Mikhail Batsenko.
Additionally, as Mikhail Batsenko reported, as a result of the visit, Brest Meat Processing Plant signed a $4 million contract, and Spetszhelezobeton concluded a deal worth $400,000.
Vadim Kravchuk, head of the Brest Free Economic Zone (FEZ), informed that the FEZ administration signed three agreements: the first with the Economic Development Agency, the second with the Industry Development Center, and the third with the Territorial Development Agency. The main purpose of the agreements is to boost foreign trade and exports. “In 2025, the trade between the Brest FEZ and Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation exceeded $100 million. Of that, 60% were exports,” said Vladimir Kravchuk.
Russian counterparts are also eager to engage with Belarusian enterprises. Mikhail Batsenko reported that the metro administration has expressed significant interest in a Belarusian ventilation unit manufacturer, as well as in a company producing equipment for the meat sector.
