Belarusian delegation headed by ambassador to visit Russia's Voronezh

VORONEZH, 30 August (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko will visit Voronezh of Russia on 31 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

"The delegation will also include Chairman of the Standing Commission on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Rusy, Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich, representatives of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and Belarusian diplomats," the press service said.

The Belarusian delegation is scheduled to hold negotiations with Voronezh Oblast Governor Aleksandr Gusev to discuss bilateral cooperation, including industrial ties.

The Belarusian delegation will take part in a ceremony to inaugurate a school for 520 places in Semiluki District of Voronezh Oblast. This school is a pilot project in the construction sector between Belarus and the Voronezh Oblast with the use of an export loan from the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus. Taking part in the project were Belarusian producers of building materials and equipment such as Mogilevliftmash, Gomelstroymaterialy, and Keramin. A memorial sign will be erected at the construction site of a 500-seat school with a kindergarten for 220 children in Semiluki: Belarus is taking part in this project as well.

Voronezh Oblast is an important trade and economic partner of Belarus among Russian regions. In H1 2021, trade between Belarus and Voronezh Oblast increased by 13.2% to total $158.3 million. Belarusian exports went up 7.7% (to $101.9 million), imports rose by 24.5% (to $56.4 million). Belarus' main exports to Voronezh Oblast included ferrous metal structures and other metal products, parts and accessories for cars and tractors, cheese and curd, frozen beef, soybean oil products and butter. Along with trade in goods, the parties have been actively developing other areas of cooperation, including construction services.
