Belarus government specifies this year's policy-based lending limits

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – The government has approved guidelines and limits of policy-based lending of government programs and projects for the year 2022. The relevant Council of Ministers' resolution No.87 of 18 February 2022 was officially published by the national legal information registry on 22 February, BelTA has learned.

According to the document, as much as Br33.879 million will be lent as part of the government program Agrarian Business. Plans have been made to allocate Br93.38 million for lending to commercial entities upon the president's decisions. Natural persons will be able to get Br28.761 million in loans upon the president's decisions. The total limit of policy-based lending stands at Br156.02 million.

The resolution also specifies limits of policy-based lending to government programs and projects for commercial banks and the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus. Belarusbank will be able to lend Br102.141 million as part of policy-based lending, with limits set at Br31.8 million for Belagroprombank, Br9.2 million for Belinvestbank, and Br12.879 million for the Development Bank.

Central government agencies and other state organizations accountable to the central government, the oblast administrations, and the Minsk City Executive Committee are instructed to contact the banks and the Development Bank in order coordinate proposals on redistributing policy-based lending limits between them, which are submitted to the Economy Ministry.
