Belarus' budget deficit at Br0.6bn in 2021

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – The deficit of Belarus' central state budget amounted to Br0.6 billion in January-December 2021, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Finance Ministry.

The revenues totaled Br28 billion, or 101.6% of the revised annual target.

Proceeds from value added tax came at Br14.9 billion (100.4% of the target), income tax – Br5.1 billion (102.9%), excise duties – Br3.7 billion (100.6%). Revenues from foreign trade operations totaled Br5.1 billion (102.7%).

The central state budget spent Br28.6 billion, or 95.7% of the revised annual target.

As much as Br11.4 billion (91.2%) was spent on nationwide activities, Br6.8 billion (95.9%) on financing the national economy, Br21.2 billion (98.2%) on financing the social sphere (social policy, education, healthcare, physical training, sport, culture, and mass media).

The deficit of the public administration sector budget totaled Br0.9 billion in January-December 2021. Revenues made up Br65 billion, or 102.3% of the revised annual target. Expenses stood at Br64.1 billion, or 97%.

The surplus of the Social Security Fund budget reached Br0.4 billion (revenues – Br19.6 billion, expenditure – Br19.2 billion).

As of 1 January 2022, the arrears on tax and duty payments stood at Br200.7 million.
