MOSCOW, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov paid a visit to the site of MAZ-RUS in Krasnogorsk, Moscow District, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

The company has been operating on the Russian market since 2010 and serves as the general importer and official distributor of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). “Together with the management of MAZ-RUS, we examined in detail the state of the Russian market for passenger transport, trucks, and specialized equipment. We thoroughly discussed the prospects for Belarusian manufacturers’ participation in current and future procurement tenders in Russian regions,’ the press service said.

Among the issues considered were: the development of industrial cooperation (more than 40 Russian machine-building enterprises assemble their products on MAZ chassis); the practical application of export support instruments and their adaptation to consumer needs; cooperation with Russia’s largest state-owned oil and gas corporations; prospects for the development of the specialized equipment market, including fire trucks; and MAZ’s marketing strategy on the Russian market.

“The ambassador emphasized the need to actively engage in Russian state-supported programs for renewing passenger transport and to expand supplies of MAZ products in line with consumer needs and production capacity,” the press service said.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of multi-brand service centers for Belarusian equipment in Russian regions, including in Moscow Oblast and St. Petersburg. “Yuri Seliverstov highlighted the importance of a systematic approach to this issue and called for actively involving other Belarusian machine-building enterprises in the direct implementation of these key projects,” the diplomatic mission added.
