Minsk to host Marina Lobatch rhythmic gymnastics tournament

VITEBSK, 6 November (BelTA) – The International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament for Marina Lobatch's Prizes will take place in Minsk on 7-8 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.

The competitions, which are due to be held under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation for the first time, will gather athletes from Belarus, Israel, Lithuania and Armenia. The tournament will feature 13 medal events.

The main award (for the first place in the All-Around event) will be Marina Lobatch's statuette made by the main organizer of the competitions, the Presidential Sports Club. Every participant of the competitions will receive presents and commemorative prizes.

Among the competitors will be medalists of the world championships and World Cup events Anastasiia Salos and Alina Harnasko. Yana Striga, Anna Kamenshchikova and Arina Krasnorutskaya, Darya Tkacheva will also compete at the event. Dina Agisheva, Polina Slanchevskaya and Darya Grokhotova will take part in the Junior events.

Belarusian players won 11 gold medals at the previous tournament.

This year the tournament at the Palace of Gymnastics will be held without fans due to the current unfavorable epidemiological situation.

Among the organizers of the International Rhythmic Gymnastics for the Prizes of Olympic Champion Marina Lobatch are the Presidential Sports Club, the Sport and Tourism Ministry, the National Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, and the Minsk City Hall.
