Belarus’ Boki wins second gold at  Madeira Para Swimming European Open Championships

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – The Madeira 2024 Para Swimming European Open Championships continues in Portugal’s Funchal, BelTA has learned.

On the third day of the competitions, swimmers with visual and musculoskeletal impairments competed in 21 events; Belarusian athletes took part in three finals of the evening program. Ihar Boki won a convincing victory in the Men's 100 m Freestyle S13. It was his second gold after he successfully performed in the Men's 100 m Butterfly S13. Also on Tuesday, Belarus’ Anastasiya Rasolka finished fifth in the Women’s 100 m Freestyle S13, and Yahor Shchalkanau was seventh in the Men's 100 m Butterfly S9.

Thus, by now the Belarusian team has three medals of the continental competitions - two golds by Ihar Boki and a 100m Backstroke S12 bronze by Maksim Vashkevich.

The competitions in Madeira will be running through 27 April.
