MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – Ukraine’s security agencies are not above using the most despicable methods for getting dirty work done: they recruit Belarusian teenagers and young people, BelTA learned from an investigative film released by the Belarusian TV channel ONT.
Daniil Garasim is one of those recruited by Ukrainian security agencies. The young man faces charges specified by Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. “I have betrayed the state by contacting security agencies of another country and passing various kinds of information to them,” he said.
Daniil was ready to do anything the curators would ask of him. He did not even think about consequences of his actions.
“I understand I am a fool. But I have come to realize it only now. Back then I thought I was doing everything right. I’ve already realized that it is not [the video game] Call of Duty. This is the real deal. Actually it is very good that I’ve been caught because nobody has died due to my actions. I have realized that people could have died because of my actions. Their deaths would have been on my conscience. And most likely I would not have been able to get over it,” Daniil said.
