Uzbekistan interested in practices of Belarusian police's Security Services Department

BREST, 8 September (BelTA) – The practices used by the Security Services Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry will be borrowed by Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Uzbekistan, Colonel Mamirzhon Ganiyev.

The officer said: “We are studying the Belarusian experience regarding the organization of protection of facilities, installation of technical solutions, the organization of official activities in security service units. The Security Services Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry has done a lot of work, particularly in the sphere of introduction of information technologies. We will definitely study the Belarusian experience and will deploy this system in Uzbekistan.”

A delegation of the National Guard of Uzbekistan is in Belarus on a visit on 6-10 September. The delegation includes representatives of the security services departments of the city of Tashkent and the autonomous republic of Karakalpakstan. This reciprocal visit was organized within the framework of the bilateral cooperation program, which was signed by the Security Services Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry and the Central Protection Office of the National Guard of Uzbekistan in April 2021. A Belarusian delegation studied the experience of Uzbek colleagues in May.

While in Belarus the Uzbek delegation will take a closer look at the operation of district and oblast branches of the Security Services Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry. The delegation visited Minsk and the oblast on 7 September. A joint conference was held in the Security Services Department HQ to discuss the deployment and usage of smart video surveillance systems and access control and access management systems in ensuring the security of various facilities. The work of arrest teams and innovations in security alarms were also discussed.

In Brest Oblast the delegation visited the Kamenets branch of the Security Services Department. The delegation honored memory of the fallen defenders in the memorial complex Brest Hero Fortress and lit candles in St Nicholas Garrison Church.

Mamirzhon Ganiyev said: “I've liked cities and nature of Belarus a lot. It is a beautiful and peaceful country that prospers.”

The delegation of the National Guard of Uzbekistan will travel to Grodno Oblast on 9 September.
