Opinion: Poland must provide humanitarian corridor for refugees

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) - Poland must provide a humanitarian corridor for the refugees traped on the Belarusian-Polish border, Russian journalist and political analyst Mikhail Markelov said on the air of the Belarus 1 TC channel while commenting on the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border, BelTA has learned.

"What is happening now is a disgrace to the entire European Union. This destroys the idea of their democracy, humanism. They show humanism towards some minorities and absolutely ignore these people. They are deploying troops against them," Mikhail Markelov said.

According to him, Poland must provide a humanitarian corridor for the refugees. “They must accommodate those people, organize a cordon and send them to Germany. What is the problem? Open that corridor. Germany accepts them. Everything can be solved in a day or two,” the political analyst said.

According to Mikhail Markelov, about 3,000 people are stranded on the Belarusian-Polish border right now. “It is Poland that is preparing for a military operation and is stirring up trouble for the whole Europe,” he added.
