Expert reflects on formation of multipolar world, role of ‘Shanghai Family’

MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) - There are only three countries with a nuclear triad, and two of them are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which is becoming one of the important poles of a multipolar world today, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“China is another country that possesses a nuclear triad. There are only three such countries, and two of them are in the SCO. Trump made a big mistake by not coming to China and not attending the parade. He could have fit in there very effectively. That would have been a big three [of countries possessing a nuclear triad]. Now the score is 2:1 in favor of the SCO, in favor of Russia and China,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.

According to the expert, China is far from the country it was, for example, two centuries ago. Modern China is not only an economic but also a military superpower. “This is a country you cannot go to war with because it will be very quick and rather tragic for whoever tries to do it,” he emphasized.

This is partly why Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko stated in an interview with China Media Group that the USA cannot manage without China, Aleksandr Tishchenko said. “As I always tell the Americans, it is necessary to negotiate with China. China has turned into an empire without which it is impossible to solve any global issue in the modern world,” Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence in an interview with China Media Group.
